When using these struts:
What different ways have you found to utilise these bits of equipment.
As we all know Extrication is the 'improvisation of the fundamentals', so there will be times when we have to think outside the box especially with the new ICS4 which gives us a better working outlook.
I am not advocating using any equipment for a purpose in which it is not designed for, but I'm sure that we have all attended some RTC's/MVA's that has tested your grey matter and an out of there box techniques has been needed.
Please share these with us with a view to using the mention stability equipment.

I recently have had a couple of jobs where vehicles are hanging over obstructions (one on an Armco with a drop on one side, the other over a sheer drop collided on c-post) both hanging procariously. Both options winching the vehicle back was going to cause the trapped casualties serious issues so I decided to stabilise in situe. The armco one is the easiest one to explain..... one paratec stabiliser on the rear quarter with heavy ratchets forcing the vehicle into it. The ratchet brings it down as the stabiliser stops it (rock and a hard place springs to mind). Creates a stable base to work on without worrying about the nasty injuries that would have been involved in winching it back. We later used winches to anchor the vehicle for safety. I understand that this is reasonably complex to explain so please ask if you want pictures, every incident where we do something different is recorded.
